Konstantin Yurjevich Solodukhin


Deputy CEO for Development of National and International Long-Distance Communications

Konstantin Yurjevich Solodukhin was born on December 26, 1965 in Odessa. In 1989, he graduated from the Military Engineering Institute named after Mozhaisky; in 2001, he got МВА degree at the University of California, Heyward. From 1989 to 1993, he served at engineering positions in Moscow Military Command. From 1993 to 1998, he worked for the RF military mission to UNO in New York. From 1999, he was Director of Business Development, and from 2002 — First Deputy CEO of OJSC “Central Telegraph”, in charge of sales and business development. In November 2004, he moved to a similar position in OJSC “Multiregional TransitTelecom” (МТТ), was in charge of commerce and investments, network development and major construction, cooperation with regulators. Since February 2005, he was CEO of MTT. On December 27, 2007 he was appointed CEO of OJSC “Rostelecom”. He is a member of International Communications Academy. He likes golf and football. Married, has a son.

“I’m a workaholic” says Konstantin Solodukhin with a smile.

He will be developing the area that is new for MegaFon – national and international long-distance communications. As Konstantin believes that this way MegaFon will become a universal operator and will strengthen its leadership positions in the industry.

Konstantin says that he made a “fast” career in telecommunications. He thinks that on one hand it is related to the fact that he came to the industry at the stage of its vigorous development, on the other hand, it happened because he was not afraid of making brave steps in business and of looking for new ways.

Solodukhin combines courage and strategic mindset not only in business: in his youth Konstantin professionally played football at the school of Chernomorets, Odessa football team. Nowadays Konstantin tries to devote all his spare time to his favorite game – golf. Unfortunately, in Russia the season for the game is very short, he can play enough only on vacation.

Konstantin Yurjevich knows MegaFon for quite a long time. While being in Central Telegraph, he worked on MegaTel, a joint project with Sonic Duo (after MegaFon’s reorganization – Stolichny branch), an offer that allowed subscribers to have a uniform corporate or individual fixed-mobile network.
